The Making of Hickeys

People might wonder “how are hickeys made?”.Children often wonder this and learn the lesson the hard way- with suction cups.

Any time there is prolonged suction on any part of the body, blood vessels come to the surface in that part. They pop and form red marks. These marks are temporary and go away in a week or so. In the meantime, people wander around with hickeys on their necks from passionate encounters. Usually hickeys are formed by someone’s mouth and them latching onto a certain piece of skin and sucking. It has to be a kind of intentional act as kissing is not enough to form a hickey.

Children often use small suction cups to give themselves the same effect. They might be curious about hickeys, but once they do make the marks, they do not go away right away. So they can be prepared for some friendly teasing.
