The Geneva Motor Show

Every year, I look forward to attending the Geneva Motor Show, and this year was no exception. It is possibly the only place in Europe where I consistently see the best of the best in the motor industry on display in all their grandeur. For those that love luxury cars and sleek, innovative design, there really is no other place to be this time of year in Europe. Now that other cities are offering less than stellar shows, Geneva has overtaken cities like Detroit and Los Angeles in presenting great cars, concepts, and hints at the future of the automotive industry.

The cars on display this year at the Geneva Motor Show shocked and awed. Some of the vehicles that stood out for me included the new McLaren, a Volkswagen release, and also a Porsche GT3 that featured manual transmission. When it seems like everyone is attempting to decrease emissions footprints, it looks like the show in Geneva is casting a broader and more optimistic net that resonated with fans of luxury cars.

Here are a few of the models that really caught my eye:

McLaren 720S

McLaren 720S

This model not only goes to the extreme, but pushes the boundaries even further. Featuring a twin-turbocharged engine that is a 4.0-liter V8, the McLaren 720S is a 2-seater is faster and lighter than previous models, able to go from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds and weighs less than 3000 pounds. With a top speed of 212 mph, the price tag may be extreme at $290,000, but for car enthusiasts, it is well worth the money.

Mercedes-Maybach Landaulet

Standing an impressive 46 feet tall, this is a vehicle that casts a shadow over competitors, boasting more than enough impressive features to ensure it stands out from the pack. From the executives seats to retractable cloth roof to everything in between, the Maybach Landaulet is not for average mortals and is definitely for those that want to have tongues wagging once they drive up. Priced at $500,000, most cannot afford it anyway!

Ruf CTR

This is a car that has been designed to be seen and heard and you will be hard pressed to ignore this car whether it is moving or in standby mode. The Ruf CTR is a bold yellow on the presentation floor and boasts a twin-turbo engine at 4.0 liters, 700-horsepower and weighs a sleek 2,640 pounds. If you love to go fast and be noticed, look no further because this is absolutely the car for you!

Mercedes AMG GT

Mercedes AMG GT

As a concept car, the Mercedes AMG GT is simply amazing, making this sedan an interesting entry on the presentation floor, but more than living up to the hype. With a 4.0-liter V8 engine, this sports hybrid boasts an impressive electrical range that is equivalent to 900 horsepower, meaning you can go faster than ever before. I think that other companies will have to step up their game very quickly if they want to compete with this car in the immediate future!

Dream Cars – For Those with the Biggest Pocketbook!

When it comes to dream cars, I already know to think outside the box and that there is no budget! Whatever I think I may want in a dream car (and more) should be on the table, and as a car enthusiast, I have seen more than my fair share of amazing cars over the years. What the cars all have in common are supreme style, immense flair, and a boldness that make them impossible to ignore. As far as I am concerned, these dream cars are basically art on wheels. Very fast wheels!

Get that fuel injector cleaner ready because for cars on my dream list, you’re gonna want to ensure that the engine is always clean and ready to go! The following are some of the cars that make my list for the ultimate dream car to purchase when money is of no concern.

Koenigsegg Trevita

Koenigsegg Trevita

This car is so impressive that it is almost hard to believe it is even street legal. A car adorned with diamonds on the open roads? It sounds almost impossible to even fathom, but the CCXR Trevita is exactly that, a Swedish car that went above and beyond by coating the outside finish with diamond dust. Don’t even ask how much it costs for a touch-up, because like I said before, money is of no concern when it comes to this list!

Under the hood, there’s 4.8 liters, with a V8 engine that is dual-charged with 1004 horsepower and torque at 797 pound-feet, making this car perfect for gliding on highways. Even if you had enough money to afford this car, you should know that they are in limited supply as only three were made.

Lamborghini Veneno

Lamborghini Veneno

In celebration of the company’s 50th birthday, Lamborghini introduced the Veneno, which is a stunning entry no matter which vantage point you view it from. From every angle, this is a car that boasts power at each turn and it looks so futuristic that I am not even sure it belongs on this planet just yet. It looks to be at least 50 years in the future! At a cost of $4.5 million dollars, maybe that it is from another time and place after all!

Lykan Hypersport

Lykan Hypersport

If you think you’ve seen this car before, you probably have! It was featured in the Fast & Furious franchise in the 7th edition, and since then it has only gained popularity. In the now unforgettable scene, the car can be viewed crashing through three Dubai skyscrapers in grand style. Probably the only thing more popular in the movie was Vin Diesel himself.

It’s easy to see why the Hypersport received so much attention: jewels in the headlights, with scissor doors, 3.7 liters, with twin-turbo engine, 770 horsepower, and 708 lb-ft of torque, these are just some of the reasons why it makes the list as my favorite dream car. What I really love about this car is the speed – it is able to go from 0 to 62 mph in as little as 2.8 seconds, with a top speed reaching 240 mph on freeways. I’d love the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of these babies!!

Weekly Car Tip: Fuel Injectors

It cannot be stressed enough how integral fuel injectors are to the proper maintenance of your vehicle. For peak performance, I am always up to date on the amount of fuel injectors in my car because I understand that the best can extend the quality of your car. Of course, with so many fuel injectors available on the market, it is important to narrow the field down and figure out which ones are the best for your particular car.

What most people can all agree on is that car maintenance is not only expensive, but it can get time consuming if you let it get out of control. To ensure that you keep up the maintenance of your vehicle, there are more than a few steps that you can take to keep your car at peak labels. As long as your car mechanic can thoroughly clean your car and keep it well-oiled and preened, performance will be optimal. Adding fuel injectors with your regular cleaning can make all the difference in the world and should not be dismissed.

What you put in your car is what makes the difference between a good engine and a great one. Of course, everyone has their own favorite additives they prefer to use when it comes to the performance of their car, and I am no different. In my experience, I have been able to narrow down the field to fuel injector cleaners that get the job done and are definitely worth the investment if you want to save money in the long run.

BG 44K

BG 44K

As one of the more popular fuel injector cleaners for the last few decades, BG 44K has been created to keep your car’s valves, combustion chambers, and injector pristine with a short period of time. By removing rust and unclogging your injector, BG 44K has been shown to quickly get your vehicle in shape in a short amount of time.

This is one fuel injector cleaner that can be trusted to rid you of typical problems cars experience like engine surge, stalling, and power loss. It also improves the drivability of your vehicle and gets you more miles per gallon. Plus, it’s safe to use in combination with oxygen sensors and catalytic converters. You can even use an 11-ounce can to clean 20 gallons, a great value that will reduce your exhaust emissions over time. Note that you cannot use BG 44K on diesel engines, but there is the alternative of using BG 244 Diesel.

Chevron Techron Plus

Chevron Techron Plus

Chevron Techron is a perfect solution if you are looking to clean fuel systems and is the perfect fuel injector cleaner for small trucks and passenger cars. Because it has been shown to clean fuel systems efficiently, it comes highly recommended by automakers. Use this brand to reduce knock, return lost acceleration, minimise emissions, and restore optimal performance. Their Plus fuel injector cleaner is great at breaking down the sulfur-related gunk that can find itself stuck inside a vehicle. I have been advised to use this brand in the car about every three thousand miles and no more than two times per oil change. Again, this fuel injector cleaner is also not made for diesel engines.

Red Line 60103

Red Line 60103

Red Line 60103 stands at the top of the class for fuel injector cleaners because it is quite effective preventing the building up of moisture in the car as well as other substances. It also ensures that you are equipped with a cleaning agent that is of premium quality and can reduce the harmful substances that can potentially harm your engine. For vehicles that are gasoline powered, this is a perfect choice that can eliminate excessive gunk, rust, moisture, and carbon build-up. Compared to other cleaners, it is non-abrasive, yet still powerful.

Before you decide on a particular brand, you should take your car in to be seen by a professional mechanic if you don’t already have one that you typically use. What I have found it that a little investment up front can go a long way towards maintaining the performance of your car long-term. Select one of these fuel injector cleaners and I guarantee that you will see improvements quickly.
